Familial hemiplegic migraine

Hemiplegic migraine (HM) is a rare form of migraine with aura which is accompanied by a palsy of a hemicorpus. Family history can allow one to distinguish the cases of familial hemiplegic migraines (FHM) concerning a second or third degree blood-relation having the same attacks and the cases of sporadic hemiplegic migraine (SHM), in which the sufferers have no affected relatives.
