Wavelength

Spatial periodicity of the oscillations of an electromagnetic wave (distance between two oscillations). It is therefore also the distance travelled by a wave during an oscillation. It is expressed in metres and is inversely proportional to the frequency. The shorter the wavelength, the greater the intensity and the more energy it has: for instance, an x-ray has more energy than visible light.
