Emilie Theâtre studied biochemistry at the University of Liège (1999-2003). She worked in the Laboratory of Molecular Oncology of Professor Rosita Winkler for her dissertation. It related to the molecular mechanisms of breast cancer. She continued with post-graduate studies in biochemical sciences where she did a thesis on the pharmacogenetics of Crohn’s disease, in the Laboratory of Human Genetics of Professor Vincent Bours. It was in this laboratory in 2009 that she presented a doctoral thesis on the molecular mechanisms of the inflammation of the respiratory tract. She was then appointed in the Laboratory of Animal Genomics led by Professor Michel Georges and has been preparing a post-doctoral thesis since 2009 on the genetics of Crohn’s disease.
